The Hierarchical Differences In India Are Immense

People familiar with the (complex) Dutch language probably know this: not everyone in our language is a ‘you’. For instance talking with a more senior and/or ‘respected’ person we would use something similar as the French, Spanish and the German people do. A couple of years ago I was invited to present something to our board of directors when someone in my team asked me: ‘how do you speak with the CEO’?
